Huge walls of glazed panels define spaces without obstructing natural light, and often give the option to open up the space completely by removing the partition with bi-fold or sliding pocket doors. These types of features are popular in commercial and domestic settings alike, bringing the garden into the home via an extension to the kitchen or dining room, or to define breakout or dining spaces in office settings. However, while letting in an abundance of natural light, these large ‘curtain wall’ installations can suffer from heat gain and at times become too bright, especially when south-facing in summer months.
