Zip Blinds

Wind resistant with excellent dimming properties Zip Blinds can be manufactured up to 30m drop and are an excellent solution for external shading.

As one of the very few UK companies that can install Zip blinds, the team at Finnestra have developed a unique service to provide these blinds to suit a complete range of domestic and commercial needs. Zip screens are most often utilised externally and consist of blinds that run within a fixed side channel where the fabric is secured into the channel by a series of “buttons” along the side of the fabric.

These buttons make up the iconic ‘Zip’ feature and allow the blinds to survive high wind speeds, making them ideal for large spans of glazing, balconies, terraces, listed buildings and curtain walls. As well as wind resistance these blinds provide flexible and adaptable shading and privacy that can easily be retracted when not required.

Older and listed buildings will also benefit from the noise reduction and energy saving  properties of these blinds with the fabric acting as a retractable secondary glazing system helping internal heat regulation especially in the summer months.

Zip blinds also provide a unique level of control in terms of light admission, as side channels let virtually no direct light in and screens can be designed to filter and diffuse light in 3, 5, 10 and 15 percent light transmittance to regulate the light in certain rooms. Solid fabrics can also be used for privacy purposes and to provide an almost complete blackout blind.

As well as all these benefits our Zip blinds come with the typical range of Finnestra print and installation options including vertical, horizontal, internal or external, sloping, gazebo, retractable conservatory and oversize options.
